New Picture

This is a current picture of Melchizedek, Magdalene and our new friend Morris. He is a student who lives by Pastor Wesley and has been sort of a "student" under the Pastor. Morris is now attending the University and our family has agreed to be his sponsor. Just like our adoption, we have gotten more benefit out of our new relationship with this awesome man that he could ever experience from us. He is 21 years old, and has had a very rough life. He desires to make something of himself and is attending school to become a doctor in Liberia. We have laughed because since our very first email from him he has addressed Clint and I as "Mom and Dad". Looks like we have been blessed with a grown child as well! ha He really is great and he emails us daily. This is a huge feat for him since he has to travel to an area that not only has internet connection, but it must have electricity too! That is not something that is easy to find in Liberia! He was very excited to learn about Mel and Mag and went straight to the home to meet them. He visits them very often and always reports back to us about how they are doing. We will get to meet Morris in person when we travel to Liberia, and I don't know who is more excited about that - us or him! He wants to show us his school and has promised to escort us around and seems to be really proud about us coming to see him. We see how little it takes to make someone feel like they belong in a family no matter what age, color or background. Everyone deserves a family, even if they are on the other side of the world!

That is so neat! You guys will have such a positive impact on his life. It will be cool when you get to meet him-soon I hope!

My husband met him when he was in Liberia both times and says he is a wonderful guy. We are doing the same and helping his friend Matthew attend University to be an accountant.

What a wonderful thing! My friend, Julie, has a young man that they have sponsored. Not only has it been a wonderful thing for Mark, but for Julie too! He is so wonderful while she travels there and introduces her to all his friends and family! She has had to travel 3 times and is there now. Mark is her constant companion while there and is just like one of her kids!
